Minimalism

Today I came across this: “Everyone should smile. Life really isn’t that serious. We make it hard. The sun rises. The sun sets. We tend to complicate the process.”

And it really struck me. We really do tend to completely complicate our own lives, and we really do make it harder for ourselves than it needs to be. This tweet had me thinking about how I make life harder for myself than it needs to be, including hoarding bits and pieces unnecessarily and having lengthy routines and patterns of activity. So I have started to slowly streamline the way I do life and improve little sectors of the way I go about my day. The smallest change really does make the largest difference. I started by downsizing the diary that I carry around that weighs down my bag for my poor shoulder that is too pretty so I actually avoid using it… Now with a smaller daily diary I am o=not afraid to scribbly every bit of information and thing I have going on, and bonus – it weighs 10 time less than the Frankie diary I used to lug around. I have slowly started culling all the things I own that are holding me back and found this YouTube very helpful on my way to minimalism. Its taking time but I know it will be worth living easier in the end.
